Regional Sales Manager / North West

Location: Field-based (region extends across North West)
Status: Full-Time
Salary: £25,000 with OTE of £70,000+ company car

Job Description:

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Regional Sales Manager for the North West will be responsible for developing the business initially into the North West of England.

 

Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Recruit and develop a professional team  of self-employed designers
  • Set and maintain high standards of leadership, efficiency, effectiveness  and appearance at all times
  • Control costs and profitability for the region in line with the Company’s stipulated targets                                                                                   
  • Adhere to the Company’s high standards and code of practice at all times.
  • Control Marketing activity and budget in accordance with Company policy which may vary from time to time.    

Recruitment

 

-          Ensure that there are sufficient designers in place at all times to meet sales targets.

-          Ensure that recruitment costs are kept within stipulated annual budgets.

-          Ensure that all new staff understand and observe the Company’s methods, systems and procedures.   

 

Training

 

-          Ensure that ongoing training is provided as necessary so that designers achieve and maintain company standards and targets.

-          Ensure each designer’s progress is constantly under review with regard to improving/maintaining their performance in line with company standards.

 

Management

 

-          Conduct regular appraisals on each designer

-          Lead by example and deal with any staffing problems promptly and in  accordance with company procedures

-          Organise and conduct regular Sales meetings ensuring that all designers attend

     

Communications

 

-          Record sales and designer/customer activity on a daily basis

-          Analyse and report sales figures to the Managing Director as required

 

General Duties

 

-          Ensure that designer paperwork is accurate and processed on time

-          Chase all outstanding orders and follow-up on finance documentation

-          Deal with and negotiate any customer complaints.

-          Ensure that all company rules and procedures are fully observed.

 

 

The successful candidate will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:

 

  • Minimum 2 years experience of managing a successful self-employed direct sales team
  • A good understanding of sales and finance
  • Proven experience within the home improvements industry
  • Experience of conducting performance reviews and appraisals
  • Excellent people management, coaching and motivational skills
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Good organisational, diary management and administrative skills
  • Good proficiency in all usual MS Office software
  • Must be results-orientated and target-driven
  • Must be ambitious and highly motivated
  • Must be professional and value-driven
